Hania Aamir Breaks Silence on Fake Quote After Pahalgam Terror Attack: “Don’t Assign Blame Without Proof”

May 2, 2025: Pakistani actor Hania Aamir has addressed the controversy surrounding her social media presence after her Instagram account was blocked in India following the recent Pahalgam terror attack. The actor took to social media to clarify that a viral post attributing controversial comments to her was entirely false.

The post in question falsely claimed that Aamir had spoken out about the ban on Pakistani artists in India, urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reconsider the restriction of Pakistani celebrities’ Instagram accounts. The statement was widely circulated, causing confusion and concern among fans.

In a direct response to the fabricated post, Aamir shared a message on her social media, despite her Instagram account being unavailable in India. She wrote, “Recently, a statement has been falsely attributed to me and is being widely circulated on social media. I want to address this directly: I did not make this statement, and I do not endorse or align with the words being linked to me. It is entirely fabricated and misrepresents who I am and what I believe.”

She further expressed her sympathy for the victims of the Pahalgam attack and their families, stating, “This is a deeply sensitive and emotional time. My heart goes out to the innocent lives lost and the families affected by the recent tragedy. Pain like this is real, and it deserves empathy—not politicisation.” Aamir emphasized the importance of understanding that the actions of extremists do not reflect the beliefs of an entire nation.

The actor concluded her message by urging her followers to be mindful of the information they share. “To my beloved supporters, your love means everything to me. I kindly ask everyone to check the truth before sharing and to approach these difficult times with kindness and clarity. Let us honor those impacted by choosing empathy, truth, and togetherness. I remain committed to spreading positivity and respect in all that I do. With sincere condolences and hope for peace.”

Following the attack, many Pakistani celebrities, including Aamir, Mahira Khan, and others, had their Instagram accounts restricted in India. When users from India try to access these accounts, they receive an “Account not available” message, with Instagram citing legal requests to restrict the content.

Other celebrities whose Instagram accounts have been affected include Ali Zafar, Sanam Saeed, Bilal Abbas, Momina Mustehsan, Iqra Aziz, Imran Abbas, and Sajal Aly. There have also been reports suggesting that Aamir was replaced in Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3 after the attack.

This situation highlights the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan in the aftermath of the terror attack and how social media continues to be a platform for spreading both information and misinformation.
