Hannah Einbinder Receives ‘Best Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series’ Award At Critics Choice Awards

February 8, 2025: Actress and writer Hannah Einbinder secured her first-ever Critics Choice Award in the ‘Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy’ category for her standout performance as Ava Daniel in the hit HBO Max series Hacks. The comedy series, which was created by Lucia Aniello, Paul W Downs, and Jen Statsky, has received widespread acclaim for its sharp writing and exceptional performances, with Einbinder’s portrayal of a young comedy writer gaining much recognition.

At the 30th Annual Critics Choice Awards, held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Einbinder shared the stage with Michael Urie, who won the ‘Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy’ for his role in Shrinking. Together, the two accepted their awards, celebrating their impressive achievements.

In her acceptance speech, Einbinder took a moment to address an issue close to her heart—the climate crisis. “We are on the brink of a really dark era of climate denial,” she stated, referencing the industry’s history of environmental neglect. She further urged everyone to use their voices to fight for the environment, emphasizing that the planet may survive, but humanity must take action to save itself.

The actress also expressed her gratitude to the Hacks team and reflected on the honor of receiving the Critics Choice Award, marking a major milestone in her career. Her win at the Critics Choice Awards comes after being nominated in the same category back in 2022.
