Happy Patel X Review: Netizens Call Aamir Khan & Vir Das' Film A 'Dose Of Comedy'
The much-anticipated spy-comedy Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, starring and co-directed by Vir Das, has officially hit theaters today, January 16, 2026. Backed by Aamir Khan Productions, the film is being hailed as the spiritual successor to the 2011 cult classic Delhi Belly, blending absurdist humor with a high-stakes (but bumbling) spy plot.
The film follows Happy Patel (Vir Das), a British spy of Indian heritage raised in London, who discovers his roots just before being sent to Goa on a mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist.
The film held special screenings in Mumbai last night, drawing rave reviews from the industry:
One of the biggest talking points is the reunion of the Delhi Belly creative energy:
| Feature | Details |

| Certification | ‘A’ (Adults Only) — Vir Das joked: “The only A I’ve ever received!” |
