Harrison Ford’s Practical Advice Redirects Miley Cyrus’ ‘Something Beautiful’ to Theatres

May 22, 2025: Actor-singer Miley Cyrus has revealed that veteran Hollywood icon Harrison Ford played a pivotal role in shaping her upcoming short film, Something Beautiful. In a recent conversation with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Cyrus shared how Ford’s candid feedback helped her pivot from an ambitious performance concept to a more grounded and sustainable artistic release.

Initially, Cyrus had envisioned Somewhere Beautiful—a live visual component tied to her upcoming album—as a series of intimate performances staged in picturesque global locations like forests and ancient pyramids. She presented this idea in a PDF format to Ford, with whom she shares a longstanding acquaintance from their time in Hollywood circles.

“I told him, ‘I have an idea,’ and showed him my plan of performing in all these visually stunning places,” Cyrus explained. “He looked at it and said, ‘You really want to go and set up in a forest and do what? Bring a whole crew? Sounds expensive.’”

That moment, according to Cyrus, led to a complete rethink. “I went back to the trailer and told my team, ‘Guys, we’re not performing in the forest anymore. Harrison Ford made a lot of sense.’”

Heeding the seasoned actor’s practical advice, Cyrus decided to shift her project from location-based shoots to a cinematic experience, ultimately choosing to release the film in theatres. “It’s something you can watch over and over, where viewers feel part of a performance—but I don’t have to physically exhaust myself that way,” she added.

Cyrus will premiere Something Beautiful at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 6, just days after the release of her self-titled ninth studio album, which drops on May 30.
