March 5, 2025: Former film producer Harvey Weinstein has issued a statement following Adrien Brody’s heartfelt Oscars 2025 acceptance speech, where the actor made a special mention of Weinstein’s two children with ex-wife Georgina Chapman.
Brody, who took home the Best Actor award for his role in The Brutalist, used his emotional speech to acknowledge Georgina Chapman, and her two children, Dash and India. His words highlighted the struggles they had faced together in recent years and the strength they had shown. Brody expressed gratitude for being welcomed into their lives, especially by Chapman’s children.
“I share this with my amazing partner, Georgina, who has not only reinvigorated my own self-worth, but my sense of value and my values,” Brody said during his speech. He continued, “And her beautiful children, Dash and India, I know this has been a rollercoaster, but thank you for accepting me into your life, and Popsy’s coming home a winner!”
Weinstein, who is currently serving a 23-year sentence in a New York prison after being convicted of sex crimes, responded through a representative. The statement shared with People magazine expressed gratitude toward Georgina for her care of their children and the love they receive: “Harvey is happy for Georgina and grateful that his kids are being loved and cared for as they deserve to be.”
Chapman and Weinstein were married from 2007 until their divorce in 2018. The couple has two children together, Dash and India. Since their separation, Chapman has been in a relationship with Brody, and the couple has made several public appearances together, including at the Oscars ceremony.
Weinstein’s time in prison has been marred by legal battles, including a retrial after his 2020 convictions in New York were overturned in April 2024. He remains behind bars due to a separate 2022 conviction for sex crimes in California.
Brody’s speech during the 2025 Oscars provided a moment of reflection and gratitude as he acknowledged the challenges the family has faced while emphasizing their resilience and strength.
