May 4, 2025: Tensions reached a boiling point in Harvey Weinstein’s ongoing sexual assault trial in New York City when former TV production assistant Miriam Haley gave an emotional and tearful testimony. During cross-examination by Weinstein’s defense attorney, Jennifer Bonjean, Haley referred to the former Hollywood mogul as a “f—ing asshole,” after being pressed about her decision to meet Weinstein at his SoHo apartment on July 10, 2006.

According to Variety, the heated exchange began when Bonjean questioned Haley about her prior encounter with Weinstein, which took place after she declined his invitation to attend Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. Haley described the encounter as “bizarre,” adding that she felt she might have “offended” Weinstein.

Haley explained that when Weinstein later invited her to Los Angeles for the premiere of Clerks II, she felt compelled to at least “say hi” to him, stating, “I felt it would’ve been weird not to go.”

The defense attorney continued to press Haley about the benefits Weinstein offered, asking if she accepted them. Haley confirmed, calling it “an invitation,” and explained the dynamics of their interactions.

The questioning then turned to the details of what Haley was wearing during their meeting, but Haley could not recall specifics about her outfit. When Bonjean pressed further, Haley’s emotional response intensified as she recalled the details of the assault. Bonjean asked, “What do you remember him ripping off?” Haley responded bluntly: “My tampon,” which caused the courtroom to grow tense.

As Bonjean continued to imply discrepancies in Haley’s account, Haley broke down in tears, fiercely defending her experience. “It’s my experience!” she cried, before turning her gaze toward Weinstein and calling him a “f—ing asshole.”

Weinstein, who has pleaded not guilty to all charges against him, faces a first-degree criminal sexual act charge related to the 2006 incident with Haley. He is also facing additional charges of first-degree criminal sexual act and third-degree rape in connection with other alleged incidents.
