Veteran actress and politician Hema Malini strongly condemned “irresponsible” media channels for broadcasting “false news” of her husband Dharmendra’s passing, confirming the actor is “responding to treatment and recovering” in the hospital.

November 11, 2025: The family of legendary actor Dharmendra has been forced to issue repeated statements against what they call the media’s “unforgivable” and “disrespectful” spread of death rumors, confirming the 89-year-old actor is stable and recovering in Breach Candy Hospital.

Actress-turned-politician Hema Malini took to X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday morning to directly address the misinformation. Her strongly worded post demanded respect and privacy from media houses.

Hema Malini (on X): “What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is being extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy.”

Esha Deol Echoes Family Plea

Hema Malini’s clarification came shortly after Dharmendra’s daughter, Esha Deol, also issued a firm statement on Instagram, appealing to the public to trust only official updates.

Esha Deol (on Instagram): “The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable and recovering. We request everyone to give our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for papa’s speedy recovery.”

Stable and Under Observation

The persistent rumors began after the veteran actor was admitted to the hospital on November 1, initially for breathlessness and what his team described as a “routine check-up.”

While unverified reports circulated over the weekend claiming he had been shifted to the ICU and placed on life support, the Deol family has consistently denied the exaggerations.

A unified statement released earlier by Sunny Deol’s team had already established the family’s position: “Mr Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further comments and updates will be shared as available. Request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family’s right to privacy.”

As the family continues to monitor Dharmendra’s health, they remain united in their request for the public and media to refrain from circulating unverified and distressing information.
