Hema Malini: “Dharam ji❤️ He was many things to me. Loving Husband, adoring Father of our two girls, Esha & Ahaana, Friend, Philosopher, Guide, Poet, my ‘go to’ person in all times of need – in fact, he was everything to me! And always has been through good times and bad.”

She continued by acknowledging his ability to connect with her entire family and his unique place in cinema history. “As a public personality, his talent, his humility in spite of his popularity, and his universal appeal set him apart as a unique icon unequalled among all the legends.”

Acknowledging the personal toll of his death, she concluded, “My personal loss is indescribable and the vacuum created is something that will last through the rest of my life. After years of togetherness, I am left with myriad memories to relive the many special moments…”

Sharing Moments of Togetherness

Along with the statement, Malini shared a series of personal photographs on X (formerly Twitter) capturing their moments of “togetherness over the years.” The pictures showcased the couple and their two daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol, born in 1981 and 1985, respectively.

The public outpouring of grief has been immense since the news of the original ‘He-Man’s’ death. Tributes have poured in from the film fraternity, including his elder son Sunny Deol and his director Anil Sharma, who confirmed that the planned sequel Apne 2 has been shelved without the family patriarch.

Meanwhile, a prayer meet for the legendary actor is reportedly being organized by the Deol family on Thursday, November 27, at a five-star hotel in Mumbai, with many celebrities expected to attend.
