"Her Voice Became The Voice Of Fateh", Says Sonu Sood On Collaborating With 'Dune' Vocalist Loire Cotler For 'Fateh' Music
January 20, 2025: Bollywood actor Sonu Sood recently shared insights into his directorial debut Fateh, highlighting the unique collaboration with Grammy-nominated composer and vocalist Loire Cotler. The film, which delves into the fight against cybercrime, features a captivating musical score, with Cotler contributing her composition and vocals for the track “Call to Life”, which accompanies one of the film’s high-octane action sequences.
In a recent interview, Sood revealed that when he was writing the script for Fateh, he was determined to have a more subtle and emotionally resonant music style, rather than loud, overpowering soundtracks. He mentioned being inspired by Hans Zimmer, whose music has been a significant influence on him. Sood explained, “I didn’t want loud music. The music had to blend with the scenes, allowing the audience to connect emotionally.” He went on to say that Zimmer’s piece “To the Moon” perfectly encapsulated the essence of the film’s theme.
Sood also praised Loire Cotler’s vocal prowess, noting that Zimmer had once spoken highly of Cotler in an interview for her intensity and vocal range. “I’m fortunate that I got her on board, and her voice became the voice of Fateh,” said Sood.
The film’s soundtrack features a stellar list of playback singers, including Arijit Singh, B Praak, Sukhwinder Singh, and Honey Singh, adding to the music’s appeal. Sood expressed that the music album for Fateh is one of the best in recent times, further amplifying the film’s emotional depth.
The action-packed thriller, which released on January 10, 2025, has been well-received for its intense stunts, choreographed by renowned international stunt director Lee Whittaker, known for his work on Captain Marvel and Fast & Furious 5. The action sequences were filmed in various international locations, including Istanbul, Dubai, and the United States, contributing to the film’s global appeal.
As a director, Fateh marks a significant milestone in Sonu Sood’s career. The film, inspired by real-life events during the COVID-19 pandemic, sheds light on the growing issue of cybercrime. Alongside Sood, the movie features an ensemble cast including Jacqueline Fernandez, Vijay Raaz, and the legendary Naseeruddin Shah. Fateh promises to be a thrilling and thought-provoking cinematic experience.
