“Honoured To Stand….”: Diljit Dosanjh After He Joins Sunny Deol In ‘Border 2’

Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh has officially joined the cast of the highly anticipated war drama Border 2, alongside Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan.

Sunny Deol welcomed Diljit on board by sharing a motion poster featuring Diljit’s powerful voiceover on Instagram, where the actor can be heard saying, “Is desh ki taraf uthne wali har nazar jhukh jati hai khauf se, in sarhado par jab guru ke baaz paera dete hain.”

Excited about the role, Diljit expressed his gratitude in an Instagram post, writing, “Pehli Goli Dushman Chalaega aur Akhri Goli Hum! Honoured to stand with such a powerful team and walk in the footsteps of our Soldiers!

Border 2 marks the sequel to the iconic 1997 film Border, which portrayed the 1971 India-Pakistan war. Sunny Deol, who played a pivotal role in the original, also teased fans about the nostalgic connection to the first film by saying, “27 saal pehle ek fauji ne vada kiya tha ki vo vapas aayega.

Directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, Border 2 is set against the backdrop of the famous Battle of Longewala. Shooting is scheduled to begin in October 2023, with the film set for release on January 23, 2026.

The original Border remains a beloved classic in Indian cinema for its portrayal of bravery, camaraderie, and sacrifice, featuring a star-studded cast and an unforgettable soundtrack, including the iconic song “Sandese Aate Hai.”

In addition to Border 2, Sunny Deol is preparing for his next project, Lahore 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan, which is slated for release on Republic Day 2024.
