Housefull 5 Dethrones Kesari Chapter 2 at Box Office with ₹87 Cr In Opening Weekend

June 9, 2025: Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5 is proving to be a crowd-puller at the box office, with impressive numbers pouring in over its opening weekend. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the comedy entertainer has collected ₹87 crore in just three days, as per trade tracker Sacnilk.

The film kicked off with a strong opening day collection of ₹24 crore — outpacing not only the previous Housefull installment but also Akshay’s recent films like Sky Force and Kesari Chapter 2. On Day 2, the film saw a healthy jump to ₹31 crore, followed by a solid ₹32 crore on Sunday. The film is now well-positioned to cross the ₹100 crore milestone on Monday, if current trends hold.

Akshay Kumar, in a playful promotional twist, donned the film’s “killer mask” and surprised fans by interviewing moviegoers outside a Bandra theatre. Sharing a video of the moment on Instagram, he joked, “Almost got caught at the end, but ran off just in time. What a fun experience!”

Featuring an ensemble cast that includes Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Shreyas Talpade, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, and more, Housefull 5 offers double the chaos — quite literally, as it was released with two different climax versions.

While critics have given it mixed reviews, the film’s mass appeal and franchise popularity are keeping audiences entertained — and theatres packed.
