June 06, 2025: Housefull 5, the fifth instalment in Sajid Nadiadwala’s hit comedy franchise, is proving to be a box office juggernaut. Released on June 6, the film has delivered strong numbers across India and overseas, collecting ₹87 crore worldwide within just two days.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Housefull 5 earned ₹40 crore globally on its opening day and followed it up with an even stronger ₹47 crore on Day 2. In India alone, the film brought in ₹24 crore on Day 1 and ₹31 crore on Day 2, taking its net total to ₹55 crore, with a gross of ₹65 crore. Overseas collections have added another ₹22 crore to the total.
With this performance, Housefull 5 has already outpaced the lifetime earnings of recent releases like Bhool Chuk Maaf (₹81.6 crore worldwide) and Shahid Kapoor’s Deva (₹58 crore worldwide), establishing itself as one of the top-performing Bollywood films of 2025 so far.
About the Film
Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Housefull 5 is a comedy whodunnit that features a massive ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Nana Patekar, Shreyas Talpade, Jackie Shroff, Sonam Bajwa, Chitrangada Singh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, and many others.

The film offers a twisty plot with two different endings and two killers, adding a layer of unpredictability to its trademark slapstick humour. However, critics gave the film a mixed response. A Hindustan Times review noted,
“The film starts off on a funny note, helped along by Shreyas Talpade’s presence. But it lacks the energy you’d expect for the kind of boisterous ride you’ve signed up for—until Akshay walks in, Ace Ventura-style. His comic timing immediately lifts the film, but I can’t say the same for the other characters.”
Despite critical divides, the audience seems to be responding positively, especially to Akshay Kumar’s performance, helping Housefull 5 race ahead in the box office game.
