Housefull 5 Roars Past ₹119 Crore: Akshay Kumar's Comic Franchise Refuses to Slow Down
June 12, 2025: Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5 is proving to be a box office juggernaut, as it continues its strong run in theatres. The comedy blockbuster minted an impressive ₹8 crore on Day 6 (June 11), taking its total domestic collection to ₹119.75 crore, according to a report by Saclink.

Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the film has maintained solid momentum following a thunderous opening weekend. Despite a slight dip in weekday occupancy — with 13.78% Hindi occupancy recorded on Wednesday — the film is holding its ground, especially in mass circuits.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate the film’s milestone, calling Monday the “make-or-break” moment for the film.
“T’S A CENTURY – 100 NOT OUT… #Housefull5 crosses the ₹ cr mark on the crucial, make-or-break Monday… Surpassing the double-digit mark was essential, and the film has delivered,” he posted.
Adarsh highlighted that while metro cities showed decent numbers, it was the mass circuits that truly powered the film’s revenue.
The film also benefited from the #BlockbusterTuesdays initiative, which offered discounted ticket prices and helped boost weekday footfalls.
With a massive ensemble cast that includes Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Shreyas Talpade, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Dino Morea, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Sonam Bajwa, Chitrangada Singh, and many more, Housefull 5 lives up to its reputation as one of Bollywood’s grandest comedy franchises.
Backed by Sajid Nadiadwala, Warda Nadiadwala, and Firuzi Khan under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the film marks the fifth instalment of the Housefull franchise, which began in 2010.
Addressing criticism around the film’s content and style, a cast member noted:
“If people are calling it out, it means they’re watching with a certain eye and sensibility. You’ve paid money, so you have every right to have an opinion.”
With Week 1 collections nearing ₹120 crore, the film is expected to cruise past ₹150 crore in the coming days, especially with a relatively open window before major releases hit theatres. The franchise continues to draw crowds with its signature mix of slapstick humour, star power, and family-friendly appeal.
