Housefull 5 Worldwide Day 1 Box Office: Akshay Kumar’s Comedy Beats Sooryavanshi With ₹40 Crore!

June 7, 2025: Tarun Mansukhani’s Housefull 5 made a strong debut at the box office this Friday, raking in around ₹40 crore worldwide on its opening day. The ensemble comedy, starring Akshay Kumar alongside Nargis Fakhri, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Riteish Deshmukh, and Soundarya Sharma, has impressed audiences and trade experts alike.

According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Housefull 5 earned ₹24 crore net and ₹28.75 crore gross in India on its first day. Overseas collections added approximately ₹12 crore, bringing the worldwide total to roughly ₹40.75 crore. The film’s producers, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, also confirmed a net collection of ₹24.35 crore in India.

This opening marks one of Akshay Kumar’s best in recent years, surpassing his 2021 hit Sooryavanshi, which collected ₹39.5 crore worldwide on day one. It also outperformed Housefull 4, the previous installment in the franchise, which had a ₹30.50 crore opening.

The film features a star-studded supporting cast, including Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Shreyas Talpade, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Dino Morea, Chitrangada Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Chunky Pandey, Nikitin Dheer, and Johnny Lever.

Housefull 5 follows a comedic whodunit plot centered around billionaire Ranjeet Dobriyal, who is mysteriously killed during a lavish cruise party. Three men named Jolly arrive claiming to be his sons, each vying for his fortune but soon become prime suspects in the murder. Notably, the film offers two different endings featuring different killers, depending on the theater.

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Warda Nadiadwala, and Firuzi Khan, Housefull 5 continues the popular franchise’s legacy of combining slapstick comedy with star power.
