[Washington, DC], July 11:
The gripping real-crime docuseries One Night in Idaho: The College Murders premieres on Amazon Prime Video this Friday, July 11, bringing global attention back to the chilling 2022 murder of four University of Idaho students. The four-part series is based on the upcoming book The Idaho Four: An American Tragedy, written by bestselling author James Patterson and investigative journalist Vicky Ward, which is now available for pre-order on Amazon and Walmart ahead of its official release on July 14.

The nearly 450-page nonfiction book explores the brutal killing of students Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin, which took place in the early morning hours of November 13, 2022, in Moscow, Idaho. Drawing from more than 300 exclusive interviews, the book offers new insight into the victims’ lives, the police investigation, and the shocking arrest of the suspect.

📺 What Is ‘One Night in Idaho’ About?

The docuseries presents never-before-seen footage and the first-ever interviews with the families of Madison Mogen and Ethan Chapin, making it the most emotionally resonant and detailed account of the tragedy to date. All four episodes will be available to stream starting July 11.

“This series doesn’t just recount a crime—it explores the cultural, legal, and emotional aftermath of an event that gripped the nation,” said a spokesperson for Prime Video.

The docuseries also coincides with a major development in the case: on July 2, 2025, Bryan Kohberger, the prime suspect in the murders, pleaded guilty to all charges. His sentencing is scheduled for July 23, where he faces four consecutive life sentences without parole.
