Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the makers have announced that the film will be re-released on June 21, allowing audiences to experience this cinematic masterpiece once again on the big screen.

Director Farhan Akhtar, who helmed the project, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share this exciting update. He posted, “A timeless tribute to courage and patriotism. Join us in theatres as we celebrate #20YearsOfLakshya, back in cinemas on 21st June.” This announcement has sparked a wave of nostalgia and anticipation among fans of the film.

Zoya Akhtar, who served as an executive producer on ‘Lakshya’, also expressed her excitement. ‘Lakshya’, a romantic war drama, tells the compelling story of Karan Shergill, portrayed by Hrithik Roshan. Initially depicted as a directionless young man, Karan’s life takes a transformative turn under the influence of his girlfriend, Romila Dutta (played by Preity Zinta), who is a journalist. Inspired by her guidance, Karan joins the Indian Army, evolving into a disciplined and focused officer cadet. His journey from aimlessness to a dedicated military officer forms the crux of this inspiring narrative.

The film boasts a stellar cast, including Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, Preity Zinta, and the late Om Puri, each delivering memorable performances that contribute to the film’s enduring legacy.

Directed by Farhan Akhtar and produced by Farhan and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment, ‘Lakshya’ remains a significant entry in Indian cinema, celebrated for its portrayal of personal growth, courage, and patriotism.

As the re-release date approaches, fans of the film are eagerly looking forward to revisiting the journey of Karan Shergill and experiencing the powerful storytelling and performances on the big screen once more. Mark your calendars for June 21 and join in celebrating 20 years of ‘Lakshya’, a film that continues to inspire and entertain audiences.
