I Beg You, Please Stop!": Harshvardhan Rane Asks Fans to End Comparisons with Ahaan Panday’s Saiyaara Role
Actor Harshvardhan Rane took to Instagram to respectfully plead with fans and social media users to stop comparing his character in Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat with Ahaan Panday’s debut performance in the blockbuster hit Saiyaara, calling Ahaan sincere and talented.
Actor Harshvardhan Rane has grown visibly weary of the online debate comparing his on-screen persona in his latest release, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, with Ahaan Panday’s acclaimed character, Krish Kapoor, from Saiyaara. The actor took to Instagram on Thursday to urge fans to halt the constant comparisons.
The chatter began when several social media posts claimed that Harshvardhan’s portrayal in the romantic drama was “miles better” than Ahaan Panday’s debut role, sparking a divisive debate among users.
Harshvardhan shared an Instagram Story featuring one such post, which read: “The internet has declared the Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat hero miles better than Saiyaara’s male lead.”
In a sincere reaction, Harshvardhan wrote:
“Guys I beg you Please stop!” (along with a folded hands emoji).
He also took the effort to post the same plea and offer high praise for his contemporary in the comments section of the original comparison post:
“Guys pls stop, y r u even comparing two people and 2 movie characters, Ahaan is v sincere and talented. Please stop. I love his work and am a fan of his work and style.”
This isn’t the first time Rane has had to intervene in the online comparison. Just days prior, a social media user posted a reel contrasting the two characters, suggesting Harshvardhan’s role was portrayed as “perfect,” unlike Krish Kapoor, whom she controversially described as a “womaniser.”
Responding directly to that user’s reel, Harshvardhan maintained a polite but firm stance, humorously writing, “Ma’am, aapki kismat mein bhi ek aisa ladka LIKHA hai (Ma’am, a guy like that is written in your destiny too).”
Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, directed by Milap Zaveri and produced under the Desi Movies Factory banner, stars Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam in lead roles, alongside Shaad Randhawa and Sachin Khedekar. The film, which opened to mixed reviews, is performing steadily, having registered a business of ₹55 crore and recently surpassed the lifetime haul of the romantic drama Metro In Dino.
Meanwhile, Saiyaara, which marked Ahaan Panday’s acting debut and Aneet Padda’s first lead role, was a phenomenal success, grossing an astounding ₹570 crore worldwide, making it the highest-grossing love story in the history of Indian cinema.
