I don’t tear down my colleagues : Zeenat Aman Claps Back at Mumtaz for taking a dig at her live-in advice
Veteran actor Mumtaz recently criticized Zeenat Aman for suggesting that people should try living together before marriage. Mumtaz argued that Zeenat’s own troubled marriage made her unfit to give relationship advice.
When approached for comment, Zeenat responded by saying everyone has their own opinions. She emphasized that she’s never been one to judge others’ personal lives or criticize her colleagues, and she won’t start now. Both actors starred in the 1971 film “Hare Rama Hare Krishna,” directed by Dev Anand.
What Mumtaz said?
In an interview with entertainment portal Zoom, Mumtaz was asked about Zeenat’s Instagram post where she advised today’s generation to live together before marriage. Mumtaz expressed her concerns, stating that Zeenat should be cautious about the advice she gives. Mumtaz mentioned Zeenat’s recent surge in social media popularity and suggested that her eagerness to appear trendy might be influencing her advice. Mumtaz used Zeenat’s own marriage as an example, highlighting the difficulties she faced with her late husband, Mazhar Khan, as a reason why she shouldn’t be giving relationship advice.
Saira Banu’s Disagreement
We also reached out to yesteryear actor Saira Banu, who worked alongside Zeenat and Mumtaz. When asked about Zeenat’s views on live-in relationships, Banu expressed her disagreement. She stated that she and her generation are old-fashioned and don’t support the idea of living together before marriage. Banu emphasized that she couldn’t endorse such modern practices, as they go against her traditional beliefs.
Banu’s response reflects a sentiment shared by many who value traditional values and are skeptical of modern relationship trends.
