Actor opens up on upcoming films, legal row and responds to Priyadarshan’s remarks
March 3, 2026: After walking out of Tihar Jail, Rajpal Yadav addressed the media and spoke at length about his upcoming projects and ongoing controversy. The actor revealed that he is working on Bhoot Bangla with filmmaker Priyadarshan, followed by Welcome To The Jungle, which features 27 actors, and Haiwaan, where he plays a small but impactful role. He also hinted at two web series and two additional films that are yet to be announced. Rajpal claimed he has projects lined up for the next seven years worth over ₹1,000 crore.
Calling himself a “₹1500 crore man,” the actor defended his professional track record of over 26 years, stating he has signed nearly 200 agreements ranging from smaller sums to bigger amounts without disputes. Referring to the alleged ₹5 crore controversy, he insisted the matter involves only three individuals and claimed the intentions behind the financial dealings were questionable. “If I had issues with agreements, there would be more cases against me,” he argued, maintaining that he is being unfairly targeted.
Rajpal also hit back at Priyadarshan’s comment suggesting that his legal troubles stemmed from poor education. The actor said he is well-educated and has survived in the industry for decades through hard work. While expressing respect for directors like Ram Gopal Varma, David Dhawan, and Priyadarshan, he asserted that judgments made without knowing the full story hold no value. Meanwhile, Priyadarshan, in an earlier interview, had described Rajpal as a “good soul” and said he even asked producers to pay him more in his upcoming film under Jubilee Films, despite believing the actor made a mistake due to lack of education.
