💬 “It’s like now I’m just a pair of front teeth,” Wood said in an interview with The Sunday Times. “Can I talk about my character? Why am I talking about my gnashers?”

While many have praised her “imperfectly perfect” smile, the Sex Education star says she’s still adjusting to the attention — especially since she was once bullied for the same feature.

“I understand what it represents. People feel more confident about their imperfections,” she said. “It’s still the thing that’s defining me. That feels weird.”

From Bullying to Biopics

Wood says it’s surreal watching orthodontists break down her dental structure in viral Instagram videos — only to conclude she shouldn’t change a thing. “They dissect my teeth, say what’s wrong, and then end it with, ‘But she’s beautiful just the way she is,’” she said, imitating the commentary with a pitch-perfect American accent.

She previously joked on The Jonathan Ross Show that “the Americans can’t believe” she hasn’t gotten her teeth fixed — especially since most actors in the US opt for veneers. But Wood proudly stands apart.

“I just don’t think I look very American. Like, at all. It’s the teeth. No Americans have my teeth,” she quipped.

Her Choice, Her Power

Despite the scrutiny, Wood believes her choice to stay authentic has helped rather than hindered her career.

“It feels so lovely — a real full-circle moment after being bullied for my teeth forever,” she told On Demand Entertainment earlier this year.

Now, she’s rumored to portray Pattie Boyd, ex-wife of George Harrison, in a Beatles biopic — another iconic woman who also embraced her natural smile.
