February 27, 2025: Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, known for his successful films like Rockstar, Jab We Met, and Chamkila, is now ready to venture into the world of web series with his upcoming project, O Saathi Re. This series marks his debut as a creator, writer, and showrunner. Starring Aditi Rao Hydari, Arjun Rampal, and Avinash Tiwari, the series is set to premiere on Netflix.
The announcement came with a video shared by Netflix, featuring the cast during their script-reading session. Imtiaz expressed his excitement about the project, stating, “O Saathi Re surprised me at every turn of its development. It is a modern story with a vintage heart, an enchanted fairy tale set in the chaos of metropolitan life. I feel both relieved and excited at having Arif direct the stellar cast of Avinash, Aditi, and Arjun.”
Tanya Bami, the Series Head at Netflix India, also shared her enthusiasm for the project, calling it a fresh and innovative take on love, relationships, and human dilemmas. “Imtiaz’s signature deeply authentic style, with an almost haunting quality to these stories, will captivate audiences.
