June 24, 2025: Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan paid a visit to President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday. The President’s official social media account shared a picture of the meeting, captioned:
“Acclaimed filmmaker and actor Aamir Khan called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan.”The meeting comes just days after the release of Aamir’s much-anticipated film ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, which hit theatres on June 20.

A spiritual sequel to the emotional 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par, the new film tells the story of a basketball team made up of intellectually disabled individuals and their journey to prove themselves against all odds. Aamir Khan plays their unlikely coach — a man serving court-ordered community service following a drink-and-drive incident.

The film’s trailer, released earlier, showcased a mix of humour, heart, and hope, with Aamir guiding the underdog team toward a national championship. The movie is directed by Prasanna and aims to deliver both laughs and life lessons in equal measure.
