Blake Lively Reportedly ‘Begging’ Taylor Swift to Mend Friendship After Legal Drama Fallout
June 4, 2025 : Once hailed as one of Hollywood’s most enviable friendships, the bond between Blake Lively and Taylor Swift has reportedly hit a breaking point — and now, Lively is allegedly trying everything she can to win Swift back.
According to a new report by Daily Mail, the Gossip Girl star is “begging” the pop sensation to reconnect after their decade-long friendship soured in the wake of Lively’s ongoing legal battle with It Ends With Us actor Justin Baldoni.
“Even though Taylor has totally cut ties with her, Blake hasn’t with Taylor,” a source close to the matter told the outlet. “She’s been reaching out to her with texts, voicemails and even emails, begging to mend what they once had. Blake isn’t giving up on trying to get her friendship with Taylor back on track.”
Despite the 37-year-old actress’s alleged attempts to reach out, the Midnights singer has reportedly ignored all communication.
“The missives explain there must be some misunderstanding on Taylor’s part and that she’d never do anything to harm their 10 years of closeness and personal secrets,” the source added.
Legal Drama Sparks Rift
The alleged falling out began when Swift was unexpectedly dragged into Baldoni’s $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds. Baldoni’s legal team claimed Lively invoked Swift’s name — referring to her as a “dragon” — to intimidate and assert power during a dispute.
“The message could not have been clearer,” stated Baldoni’s lawsuit, according to Page Six. “Baldoni was not just dealing with Lively. He was also facing Lively’s ‘dragons,’ two of the most influential and wealthy celebrities in the world, who were not afraid to make things very difficult for him.”
The situation escalated when Swift was subpoenaed as a potential witness in the trial scheduled for March 2026, though the subpoena was reportedly dismissed weeks later. However, the damage to the friendship was already done.
Swift Reportedly Feels ‘Used’
According to previous reporting, Swift felt “used” and blindsided by the situation, especially by being referred to as a strategic asset in someone else’s legal conflict.
“Taylor doesn’t appreciate being referred to as one of Blake’s dragons,” the source revealed. “She values her privacy and didn’t sign up for this.”
As of now, Swift has not publicly addressed the alleged rift, nor has Lively. Fans of both stars are holding out hope that the two can eventually reconcile what was once one of the most cherished friendships in the celebrity sphere.
