May 23, 2025: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) posted a mammoth total of 231/6 in their 20 overs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), thanks to a scintillating unbeaten knock of 94 off 48 balls* by Ishan Kishan and a fiery cameo from Aniket Verma, in a high-stakes IPL 2025 fixture held on Friday in Lucknow.
RCB’s stand-in captain Jitesh Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first—only to face an all-out assault from the SRH top and middle order.
Powerplay Blitz
SRH openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head wasted no time, putting up a rapid 50-run partnership by the fourth over. Sharma dazzled with a quickfire 34 off 17 balls, including three fours and three sixes, before falling to Lungi Ngidi. Head followed soon after, dismissed for 17(10) by veteran Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Kishan Holds the Fort
With SRH at 71/2 at the end of the powerplay, Ishan Kishan steadied the innings while maintaining an aggressive tempo. He was joined by Heinrich Klaasen, who contributed a handy 24 off 13 balls before falling to Suyash Sharma in the 9th over.
Middle-Order Fireworks
Enter Aniket Verma, whose explosive 26 off just 9 balls (3 sixes, 1 four) gave the innings a timely surge before he was dismissed by Krunal Pandya. Though Nitish Reddy failed again, scoring just 4, SRH kept the momentum alive.
