Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer behind all five of the original ‘Pirates’ films, which featured Johnny Depp in his celebrated role as Captain Jack Sparrow, shared insights in a recent interview with ComicBook.com. Unlike a direct sequel, the upcoming installment aims to breathe new life into the series, according to a report by People.
Bruckheimer expressed the unpredictable nature of film production timelines when discussing the prospects of another ‘Pirates’ movie or a new ‘Top Gun’ film, another franchise he is associated with. “It’s hard to tell. You really don’t know how they come together. You just don’t know,” he remarked.
Highlighting the challenges of aligning schedules with iconic actors like Tom Cruise, Bruckheimer noted the relative ease of launching a ‘Pirates’ reboot, stating, “But we’re gonna reboot ‘Pirates’, so that is easier to put together because you don’t have to wait for certain actors.”
