"I’ve Decided To Do A Brand New Album" , Says Nicki Minaj As She Reveals Brand-New Album Pink Friday 3.
Nicki Minaj has officially announced the cancellation of the Pink Friday 2 deluxe edition and revealed plans for an entirely new album, Pink Friday 3.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Minaj explained her decision, stating that some of the songs meant for the deluxe edition, such as “#Mamita” and an “anxiety” song, will instead be included in the new album. She emphasized that the new material is too good to be added as extra content to an existing album, warranting a fresh release.
Minaj expressed her excitement about the new music, calling the tracks “way too iconic” to be bundled into a deluxe edition. She noted that Pink Friday 2, released on December 8, 2023, holds special significance as it is her first album since becoming a mother to her son, Papa Bear. She also mentioned that the original Pink Friday 2 was carefully curated, and adding 5-7 more songs felt “a little sloppy.”
In her post, Nicki promised fans that Pink Friday 3 will deliver exactly what’s been “needed” and assured her loyal fanbase, the Barbz, that she is excited and intentional about every decision surrounding both albums. While she hasn’t yet provided a release date for Pink Friday 3, Nicki confirmed that more details will be shared in the coming weeks.
Minaj concluded by expressing her gratitude for the ongoing success of her current era, as she continues her tour with upcoming stops, including Dallas .
