Despite a strong start, Sunny Deol’s action drama struggles at the box office in its third week, even as a sequel, Jaat 2, gets officially announced.

Sunny Deol’s action-packed drama Jaat has hit a major roadblock at the box office as it entered its third week. On Day 16 (Friday), the film’s earnings plunged sharply to just ₹85 lakh, signaling a steep decline after an initially strong run.
According to data from Sacnilk, Jaat suffered a 32% drop in collections compared to Thursday, when the movie had already recorded a 7.41% dip. Despite this slowdown, the film’s overall India net collection after 16 days stands at ₹81.6 crore.

- Week 1 (8 Days): ₹61.65 crore
- Week 2: ₹19.04 crore (a 69.12% drop from Week 1)
- Third Friday (Day 16): ₹85 lakh
Film analyst Taran Adarsh noted that Jaat could still “finish in the ₹90 crore+ range” domestically if it sustains modest weekend collections.
Jaat Worldwide Collection
- Total Worldwide Earnings: ₹109 crore
- India Gross: ₹95.3 crore
- Overseas Gross: ₹13.7 crore
Factors Behind the Decline
Jaat‘s box office downfall has been attributed to multiple factors:
- Strong competition from Akshay Kumar’s Kesari 2
- Legal controversies and an FIR over a disputed scene (since removed)
- Mixed critical reception despite Sunny Deol’s strong fanbase
