Jaat Box Office Day 16: Produced at ₹100 Crores Sunny Deol’s Film Tops ₹109 Crore but Faces Sharp Drop
April 26, 2025: Mumbai:
Sunny Deol’s action-packed drama Jaat has hit a major roadblock at the box office as it entered its third week. On Day 16 (Friday), the film’s earnings plunged sharply to just ₹85 lakh, signaling a steep decline after an initially strong run.
According to data from Sacnilk, Jaat suffered a 32% drop in collections compared to Thursday, when the movie had already recorded a 7.41% dip. Despite this slowdown, the film’s overall India net collection after 16 days stands at ₹81.6 crore.
Film analyst Taran Adarsh noted that Jaat could still “finish in the ₹90 crore+ range” domestically if it sustains modest weekend collections.
Jaat‘s box office downfall has been attributed to multiple factors:
Directed by Gopichand Malineni, Jaat features Sunny Deol as Baldev Pratap Singh, alongside Randeep Hooda, Viineet Kumar Singh, Ramya Krishnan, and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles. The film combines rugged action with an emotional family backdrop.
In a surprise for fans, Sunny Deol has announced the sequel Jaat 2, promising an even bigger spectacle.
“You have given me so much love for my film Jaat. I promise Jaat 2 will be even better,” Sunny shared in a video announcement.
Director Gopichand Malineni is also reportedly returning to helm the sequel.
