‘Jaat’ Set to Explode on Screens: Randeep Hooda, Sunny Deol & Viineet Singh Talk Emotion, Action & Trust in Cinema
New Delhi, April 9:
With just a day to go before the release of ‘Jaat‘, anticipation is soaring for this high-octane action drama starring Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, and Viineet Kumar Singh. Directed by Gopichand Malineni and produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory, the film promises a cinematic adrenaline rush loaded with emotion, intensity, and patriotism.
Randeep Hooda, who plays the menacing antagonist Rana Tunga, reflected on the deeper meaning behind the film’s title. “In this film, ‘Jaat’ is not just a community or a character — it’s an emotion,” Hooda explained. “It represents truth, justice, fearlessness, love, anger — all in one. Being a Jat myself, I initially thought I’d play that role, but when I learned Sunny Sir was taking it on, I was just happy to be part of this tribute.”
Randeep also opened up about bouncing back into action films after undergoing knee surgery. “Losing weight for roles can take a toll, and this one came with physical strain,” he said. “But the joy of being back in commercial action cinema outweighed the discomfort. I pushed through the pain and enjoyed every moment.”
Viineet Kumar Singh, known for his versatile performances in films like Chhaava and Superboys of Malegaon, recalled how quickly he agreed to the film. “The moment I heard Sunny Sir was in it, I said yes. I didn’t even read the script,” he laughed. “When Gopichand Malineni narrated the story, we sealed the deal in ten minutes.”
Both actors stressed that while reviews have their place, the true measure of a film’s success lies in how audiences connect with it. “The biggest reward is the box office — when people buy tickets and show up, it speaks volumes,” said Randeep. Viineet echoed the sentiment: “Cinema is made for the people. Their reaction is what truly counts.”
The two also shared their philosophies on creative collaboration. Having recently directed Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, Randeep emphasized the importance of trusting a director’s vision. “As an actor, you bring ideas, but the director is the one steering the ship. That clarity creates a good film.”
Viineet added, “My job is to surrender to the director’s world. I bring my preparation and thoughts, but the final call is his. That’s how you serve the story best.”
The trailer for Jaat, released in March 2025, gave fans a thrilling preview of what’s to come — including a goosebump-inducing callback to Sunny Deol’s legendary Damini line:
“Ye dhaai kilo ke haath ki taakat pura north dekh chuka hain, ab south dekhega.”
Set to release in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil, Jaat is poised to bring the raw energy of Sunny Deol and the gripping storytelling of Gopichand Malineni to a pan-India audience.
