Jack Lowden Joins Emma Corrin in Netflix’s Pride and Prejudice

July 29, 2025: The highly anticipated six-part limited series adaptation of Jane Austen’s 1813 classic Pride and Prejudice is now officially in production at Netflix! The first glance at the famous Bennet women has been released, and people are excited about this new version. Emma Corrin plays Elizabeth Bennet, while Jack Lowden plays the mysterious Mr. Darcy. The cast is amazing.

Along with Corrin and Lowden, Olivia Colman plays Mrs. Bennet, Rufus Sewell plays Mr. Bennet, Jamie Demetriou plays Mr. Collins, Daryl McCormack plays Mr. Bingley, Rhea Norwood plays Lydia Bennet, Siena Kelly plays Caroline Bingley, Louis Partridge plays Mr. Wickham, and Fiona Shaw plays Lady Catherine de Bourg. Hopey Parish and Hollie Avery are making their first appearances as Mary Bennet and Kitty Bennet, respectively.

Anjana Vasan, Sebastian Armesto, Rosie Cavaliero, Saffron Coomber, James Dryden, Justin Edwards, James Northcote, Eloise Webb, and Isabella Sermon are also part of the large cast. Dolly Alderton wrote the Netflix adaptation, while Euros Lyn is the director and executive producer. This is also Corrin’s first time as an executive producer. Lisa Osborne will also be producing for Lookout Point, along with Laura Lankester, Will Johnston, and Louise Mutter. There is still no word on when the series will come out.

Austen’s second work, Pride and Prejudice, is about Elizabeth Bennet, one of five girls in a Hertfordshire family that has to deal with the restriction that only men can inherit property. Elizabeth meets eligible men as she moves through society, including the mysterious Mr. Darcy, who is often misunderstood. The 1995 BBC/A&E Networks series with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle and the 2005 movie with Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen, which was well-received by critics and recently re-released, are two well-known adaptations. In 2022, Netflix made a movie version of Jane Austen’s Persuasion with Dakota Johnson.
