James Bond’s New Era: Amy Pascal and David Heyman to Produce Next 007 Film for Amazon MGM

The Spider-Man and Harry Potter producers officially take the reins from Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson for the next chapter in the Bond legacy

Los Angeles, March 26: It’s official—Amazon MGM has appointed powerhouse producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman to helm the next James Bond film, marking the first time in franchise history that a Bond movie will be produced outside the iconic Broccoli family.

Pascal will produce through her banner Pascal Pictures, while Heyman will produce via Heyday Films. While it’s yet unclear whether the duo will handle future installments beyond the upcoming title, their selection signals a new era for the legendary 007 franchise.

This announcement comes following a historic agreement between Amazon MGM and longtime Bond stewards Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. The Broccoli-Wilson duo—whose family has been at the helm of Bond since the 1960s—will be stepping back from creative control for the first time.

Both Pascal and Heyman bring unmatched franchise pedigree to the table. Pascal spearheaded Sony’s Spider-Man films, including the Tom Holland-led trilogy that grossed over $3 billion globally. Heyman, meanwhile, is the architect behind the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films, one of the most successful movie franchises in history.

“We are approaching every creative decision with James Bond, which Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have so masterfully steered, with the greatest sense of responsibility,” said Courtenay Valenti, head of film at Amazon MGM Studios. “Amy Pascal and David Heyman are among the most accomplished and respected film producers working today.”

In a joint statement, Pascal and Heyman expressed their gratitude and excitement:

“James Bond is one of the most iconic characters in the history of cinema. We are humbled to follow in the footsteps of Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson, who made so many extraordinary films, and we are honored and excited to keep the spirit of Bond alive as he embarks on his next adventure.”

Rumors of their involvement surfaced last week, but the confirmation now sets the stage for a bold and potentially transformative direction for the Bond franchise as it gears up for its next evolution.
