Jamie Lee Curtis, the beloved actor and producer, recently shared an emotional update as the production of her much-anticipated fantasy comedy film, Freakier Friday, nears its end.
Taking to Instagram, Curtis revealed that only a few days of shooting remain for the film, expressing deep gratitude towards her co-star Lindsay Lohan, who she fondly referred to as her “ultimate movie daughter.”
Reflecting on the journey, Curtis posted, “The last FRIDAY of this FREAKIEST FRIDAY or shall I call it CRYDAY. We still have a couple days left next week, but it’s winding down and this morning as I arrived at work and looked at the hundreds of people gathering together to make it for the fans, shooting the movie in California, I’m feeling especially grateful to my ULTIMATE movie daughter, @lindsaylohan without whom we could not have made this movie. Ever.”
The upcoming film, Freakier Friday, directed by Nisha Ganatra and written by Jordan Weiss, is a sequel to the iconic 2003 film Freaky Friday. It will see Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan reprising their roles as Tess and Anna, respectively. The cast also includes original members Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, and Christina Vidal Mitchell, among others, with new additions like Julia Butters and Manny Jacinto.
Curtis also shared a heartwarming moment with her followers, revealing that Lohan had gifted her a shirt after she had complimented it. “She gifted me a @suziekondi shirt after I complimented her on hers and I wore it today in honor of her,” Curtis wrote, adding a touch of sentimentality to the already emotional post.
Curtis and Lohan recently appeared at Disney’s D23 fan event on August 9, where they discussed their excitement for the sequel, further fueling anticipation for the film’s release.
As Freakier Friday nears its completion, fans are eagerly waiting to see the magic of Curtis and Lohan back on screen, bringing back the nostalgia of the beloved original while exploring new dimensions of their iconic characters.
