In a swift crackdown on digital piracy, the Cyber Crime Department has arrested six individuals for the illegal circulation of leaked content from Thalapathy Vijay’s highly anticipated final film, Jana Nayagan.

The arrests follow a massive wave of industry outrage after key scenes from the unreleased project surfaced on piracy websites and social media platforms last Friday. The film, which marks Vijay’s transition from cinema to full-time politics as the chief of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has already been under immense pressure due to ongoing certification delays with the CBFC.

The makers’ legal representative, Vijayan Subhramanium, confirmed the arrests via a stern warning on X (formerly Twitter). He emphasized that the authorities are actively monitoring digital footprints to identify those engaging with the pirated material. “The Cyber Crime Department has already arrested 6 persons.

Any person downloading, forwarding, sharing, or circulating leaked scenes in any form through social media or digital platforms will be traced and subjected to immediate criminal prosecution,” Subhramanium stated, adding that strict action will follow without exception.

KVN Productions also issued an official statement expressing “utmost shock and urgency” over the security breach. The production house highlighted that the illegal access and copying of scenes pose a catastrophic threat to the film’s commercial viability.

While the star-studded cast including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, and Mamitha Baiju awaits the official release, Vijay himself has previously alluded to a “blame game” involving the central government regarding the film’s postponed schedule. As of now, the actor has maintained a calculated silence regarding the specific leak, even as the industry rallies to protect his cinematic swan song.
