Janhvi Kapoor’s ‘Ulajh’ Release Date Postponed to August

Movie enthusiasts will have to wait a bit longer for the release of Janhvi Kapoor’s much-awaited film ‘Ulajh,’ as the release date has been postponed. Originally slated for release on July 5, ‘Ulajh’ will now hit cinemas on August 2.

Janhvi Kapoor took to Instagram to share the new release date with her fans. Alongside the announcement video, she wrote, “#Ulajh is now set to release on 2nd August in cinemas near you! See you guys with popcorn soon! #UlajhInCinemas2ndAugust!”

According to the statement, the delay is due to ongoing post-production work. The film delves into the life of a young Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, portraying the challenges and complexities she faces in both her career and personal life.

Recently, the makers released a teaser for the film. In the 56-second video, Janhvi’s character is shown determined to seek revenge against those who betrayed her and her country. Sharing the teaser on Instagram, the ‘Mili’ actress wrote, “Enter the world of lies, deceit and betrayals – #Ulajh in cinemas on the 5th of July.”

Directed by National Award winner Sudhanshu Saria, the patriotic thriller also stars Gulshan Devaiah and Roshan Mathew in lead roles. Produced by Junglee Pictures, ‘Ulajh’ follows the journey of a young IFS officer from a prominent family of patriots, who gets entangled in a dangerous conspiracy while stationed far from home at a critical post. The film is written by Parveez Shaikh and Sudhanshu Saria, with dialogues by Atika Chohan, and promises to offer a fresh take on the thriller genre.

Expressing her excitement for the film, Janhvi Kapoor previously shared, “When I was approached with the script of ‘Ulajh,’ it instantly attracted me because as an actor, I am constantly looking for scripts that make me break out of my comfort zone. Portraying a character based in the celebrated world of the Indian Foreign Services was just that. My character and the story have many layers, emotions, and parameters, which are both challenging and exciting. I am thrilled for the audience to see me in this new role envisioned by Sudhanshu. I am also looking forward to working with such talented co-actors and a development studio like Junglee Pictures for the first time.”
