Jason Statham Returns For Action-Packed Sequel ‘The Beekeeper 2’

February 28, 2025: Action star Jason Statham is set to reprise his role as the vengeful former intelligence operative in The Beekeeper 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2024 hit thriller The Beekeeper. Produced by Miramax, the film will see Statham returning to the high-stakes world of intense action and personal retribution, as he continues to navigate the dangers surrounding his past.

The first Beekeeper film, which grossed an impressive USD 153 million globally, followed Statham’s character as he sought vengeance after the death of his landlady, caused by a tragic phishing scam. The film, which also starred Emmy Raver-Lampman, Minnie Driver, Josh Hutcherson, and Jeremy Irons, was praised for its tight action sequences and strong performances, especially Statham’s commanding presence.

In The Beekeeper 2, Statham will not only reprise his role but will also take on producing duties through his own production banner, Punch Palace Productions. Chris Long’s Long Shot Productions will join in on producing the sequel as well.

Timo Tjahjanto, known for his work on the upcoming Nobody 2, is stepping in as the director for the sequel, taking over from David Ayer, who helmed the first film. Tjahjanto’s reputation for delivering high-octane, stylized action sequences is expected to bring a fresh and intense perspective to the series, promising fans a more thrilling experience.

Screenwriter Kurt Wimmer will also return to continue crafting the story for the sequel, which leaves fans eagerly awaiting what’s in store for the next chapter in this action-packed saga.
