Javed Akhtar Slams Troll After Criticising Taliban Minister’s Visit to India

Lyricist, screenwriter and poet Javed Akhtar recently voiced his disapproval of the “respect and reception” given to Taliban Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi during his visit to India. Taking to social media, Javed expressed how he wished some “sharp-witted women journalists” from India had attended the Taliban leader’s press conference.

In his post, Javed wrote, “How I wish that the sharp-witted women journalists like Anjana Om Kashyap, Chitra, Navika and Rubika could attend the first press conference of that woman-hater Talibani who was the official guest of our secular country, but alas…”

Soon after, a user mocked Javed by suggesting, “Sir, you are an artist, why don’t you dress up like a woman and attend that press conference!”

Javed gave a sharp response, writing, “Brother, honestly I am feeling sorry for you. Why are you born with such a low IQ? Nature has not been fair to you. Anyway, at least you can tell your name, eat food on your own, change clothes and cross a road. You have to be thankful for that.”

His witty yet scathing reply has since gone viral, with many praising his composed yet biting response to online trolling.
