Insiders claim Drake has been texting J.Lo for over a year — but the singer-actress isn’t responding the way he hoped.
April 9, 2025: Jennifer Lopez seems unfazed by Drake’s recent attempts to rekindle a romantic connection, despite the rapper’s consistent outreach over the past year.
According to a report by RadarOnline.com, Drake and J.Lo have reportedly been texting for quite some time, but sources close to the situation say the On The Floor hitmaker isn’t giving him the green light he’s hoping for.

“He’s really laid it on thick,” one insider revealed, adding that the rapper has been persistent in trying to woo Lopez.
Despite his efforts, it appears Drake hasn’t made much headway. The source noted that he’s been increasingly frustrated by the lack of meaningful reciprocation, fearing he may have landed in the dreaded friend zone.

“So far, he’s gotten no further than sexting,” the insider said. “He’s getting frustrated and feels like he might be in the friend zone now.”
Despite the lack of response, Drake reportedly still holds out hope due to his long-standing admiration for Lopez.
“He would have moved on by now and stopped wasting his time, but she’s one of his all-time crushes — so he doesn’t want to give up,” the source concluded.
The duo was romantically linked back in 2016, sparking headlines with their cozy Instagram posts. While the past romance fizzled, Drake’s interest seems to have reignited — even if Lopez isn’t exactly returning the favor.
