Washington, February 1 – Jennifer Lopez made a triumphant return to the big screen with the world premiere of her new movie musical, Kiss of the Spider Woman, at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. A Powerful Story Set in Argentina’s Civil War

Kiss of the Spider Woman stars Diego Luna as a political prisoner during Argentina’s civil war in the 1980s, incarcerated alongside another man, played by Tonatiuh. The film is a reimagining of John Kander, Fred Ebb, and Terrence McNally’s Broadway adaptation of Manuel Puig’s 1976 novel. The Broadway version won a Tony Award for Best Musical in 1993.

Lopez acknowledged the legacy of the original creators:

“I think of Chita Rivera, Fred Ebb, and Terrence McNally, and all the love they poured into this. It’s an honor to be part of this movie. Thank you for this moment,” she expressed.
