May 15, 2025: Singer-actor Jennifer Lopez has revealed that she suffered a facial injury while rehearsing for the 2025 American Music Awards (AMAs), where she is set to host and perform later this month. The 55-year-old star took to Instagram Stories on May 13 to update her fans with photos of the injury and her recovery.

In a candid selfie, Jennifer is seen holding an ice pack over her right eye, captioning the image, “So this happened…” A second photo shows a cut on the bridge of her nose and visible bruising around her eye, with Lopez confirming that the injury occurred during “@amas rehearsals.”

Despite the alarming visuals, the singer assured fans that she’s on the mend.

In a follow-up post, she shared a photo with her doctor, writing, “Thank you for stitching me up Dr. Diamond. A week later and a whole lotta ice, I’m good as new.” Though some bruising remains, Lopez appears ready to take the stage as planned.

Jennifer will host the 2025 AMAs, scheduled for May 26 in Las Vegas, marking her second time leading the event after her debut as host in 2015. The “On the Floor” hitmaker is also slated to deliver a performance described as a “signature mix of music, dance, and visual spectacle.”
A three-time AMA winner and a veteran of the awards show stage, Lopez holds the unique distinction of being the only female artist to simultaneously top the music and film charts. This year’s AMAs will also feature top nominees including Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish, Post Malone, Chappell Roan, and Shaboozey.
Despite the setback, JLo’s dedication and professionalism continue to impress her fans—many of whom praised her for pushing through and not letting the injury derail her performance.
