Jessica Alba recently expressed her enthusiasm for reprising her iconic role as Sue Storm (Invisible Woman) in the superhero film franchise Fantastic Four, as reported by People. Reflecting on her past experience, Alba shared, “Yeah, of course. I loved playing that character,” referring to her role in the 2005 film Fantastic Four and its 2007 sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
Alba, a fan of superhero stories, said, “I’d be open to anything in the Marvel universe. It was a great time in my life.” She further added, “So yeah, if they would have me, sure.”
The original Fantastic Four film, released in 2005, is based on the Marvel Comics superhero team created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Directed by Tim Story, it featured a star-studded cast, including Jessica Alba, Ioan Gruffudd, Chris Evans, Michael Chiklis, and Julian McMahon. The 2007 sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, continued the superhero team’s adventures and featured Laurence Fishburne as the voice of Silver Surfer.
Fans of the franchise can look forward to a fresh take on the superhero team in the upcoming The Fantastic Four: First Steps, slated for release in 2025. The reboot will star Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. In an exciting twist, Robert Downey Jr. is set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Doctor Doom, the main antagonist in both Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027).
In another nostalgic nod, Chris Evans, who originally played The Human Torch in the mid-2000s films, will reprise his role in Deadpool & Wolverine. Reflecting on this return, Evans revealed that Ryan Reynolds reached out with the idea. “He just said, ‘Listen, if you don’t like this idea, no worries whatsoever. But I have something that could really bring the house down,'” Evans shared.
As fans eagerly anticipate the new iterations of their favorite characters, Jessica Alba’s willingness to return as Sue Storm has sparked excitement, with many hoping to see her return to the superhero universe.
