John Abraham’s ‘Vedaa’ Awaiting CBFC Clearance Amid Release Delay

The upcoming film Vedaa, starring John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh, is facing an unexpected delay as it awaits clearance from the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Director Nikkhil Advani took to Instagram to provide an update and voice his frustration over the prolonged certification process.

Advani’s statement revealed that despite submitting the film well in advance of the eight-week deadline, Vedaa has not yet received the necessary certification. The film was reviewed by the CBFC on June 25th and subsequently referred to a revising committee. However, the producers have not received detailed feedback regarding the committee’s concerns or objections.

The producers expressed their efforts to expedite the process, stating, “We have waited patiently for the revising committee to be formed and have repeatedly documented our appeal for certification.” They emphasized their trust in the CBFC and requested that the issue be resolved urgently.

Originally scheduled for release on August 15th, a date chosen to align with the releases of their previous successful films Satyamev Jayate and Batla House, the makers hope to keep this timeline. “August 15th is a significant date for us, and we are eager to bring the film to John Abraham’s fans,” the statement noted.

The film is described as a high-energy, entertaining piece inspired by current events, featuring intense action sequences. Directed by Nikkhil Advani and written by Aseem Arrora, Vedaa is produced by Zee Studios, Umesh Kr Bansal, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, John Abraham, and co-produced by Minnakshi Das. It also stars Abhishek Banerjee and Tamannaah Bhatia.

The narrative follows Sharvari Wagh’s character as she challenges a repressive system, with John Abraham playing a crucial role as her unexpected ally in the fight for justice. Fans are eagerly awaiting the film’s release and hope for a swift resolution to the certification delay.
