John Cena returns as Peacemaker in new teaser for season 2

Washington, US, November 11: After extended delays, fans of Peacemaker can finally celebrate as James Gunn’s hit DC series returns for its highly anticipated second season in 2025. Gunn announced the news on social media with a teaser, unveiling John Cena’s return as the chaotic antihero Peacemaker on Max.

The Peacemaker series first premiered on HBO Max in January 2022 and quickly became a fan favorite, showcasing Cena’s Peacemaker in a role he previously played in The Suicide Squad. Although season two had been greenlit soon after the first season’s success, production faced delays. Gunn’s teaser reignited fan excitement, offering a sneak peek of the explosive action to come.

The teaser includes glimpses of Cena’s Peacemaker navigating high-stakes battles alongside familiar characters and a new face: Frank Grillo joins the cast as Rick Flag Sr. Grillo, who will also voice a character in Gunn’s animated project Creature Commandos, appears in the teaser wearing an ID badge and walking through an office, hinting at his significant role.

In addition to Peacemaker’s return, fans will see Vigilante (Freddie Stroma), Peacemaker’s fiercely loyal sidekick, armed and ready for action. Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland) also returns, seen in the teaser bloodied and enraged in a bar, hinting at the gritty challenges ahead.

A touching moment in the promo has Peacemaker toasting with his team and declaring, “No matter how far away we are from each other, no one will break us apart,” promising fans an emotionally intense season ahead.

Though an exact release date has not been set, Peacemaker season 2’s 2025 debut promises an action-packed year for Cena, who is also embarking on his WWE retirement tour. With familiar faces, new characters, and unresolved storylines, Peacemaker season 2 will mark a thrilling chapter in the DC Universe.
