Jolly LLB 3: Censor Board Granted U/A Certificate After Police Assaulting An Old Man Scene Changed

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has granted Jolly LLB 3 a U/A certificate, but only after the makers made several modifications to the film.

September 17, 2025: The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has officially authorized the courtroom drama Jolly LLB 3, which stars Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi. The censor board gave the movie a U/A certificate and a 16+ rating on September 2, after the filmmakers made a few small changes that the board asked for. The movie will be in theaters on September 19.

Reports say that the makers made the alterations that the CBFC advised, which did not modify the story of the movie. Changes included making an alcohol brand less clear, taking the term “Fu***r” out of the movie, and putting in a new disclaimer instead of the old one. Also, a scene when cops beat up an old guy was toned down, and a logo on a file that Janaki (played by Seema Biswas) was carrying was blurred. There was also a change to a line in the second half of the movie that now says, “Janki amma ka gaon sirf ek…” I threw a check at my face and hit me.

The movie is now ready to bring its trademark mix of humor and legal drama to the big screen, with a certified runtime of 157 minutes (2 hours and 37 minutes).

The picture has been in a legal battle, but it has now been certified. A lawyer who didn’t like the song’s lyrics filed a public interest litigation (PIL) at the Madhya Pradesh High Court against the movie’s song, “Bhai Vakeel Hai.” The PIL says that phrases like “fikar na kar tera bhai vakeel hai” and mentions of “package deals” show disrespect to the courts. The person who filed the complaint also didn’t like that actors were dancing in lawyers’ dresses, which are supposed to be worn with respect in court.

Directed by Subhash Kapoor, who also directed the first two movies, Jolly LLB 3 brings back the courtroom rivalry between Akshay Kumar’s and Arshad Warsi’s characters, who play the same roles as in the first two movies. The movie also has Saurabh Shukla, Huma Qureshi, and Amrita Rao back, along with Gajraj Rao, which makes the theatrical release even more exciting.
