A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Madhya Pradesh High Court against the upcoming film Jolly LLB 3. The petitioner claims the film’s song ‘Bhai Vakeel Hai’ and its visuals disrespect the legal profession and judiciary.

September 10, 2025: Before it ever comes out, the upcoming movie Jolly LLB 3, which stars Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, has run into legal problems.

A lawyer filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Madhya Pradesh High Court over the film’s promotional song, “Bhai Vakeel Hai,” saying it disrespects the legal profession and the courts.

But the Allahabad High Court has already made a big decision in the case. A different division bench turned down a similar request to stop the movie’s distribution, saying that there was nothing wrong with the lyrics of the song or the trailers for the movie. The court said, “We do not find anything that may interfere with the practice of the legal profession by genuine Advocates,” which was a huge relief for the filmmakers.

Claims and Court Decisions

A lawyer from Jabalpur filed the PIL, saying that the song’s lyrics, including “fikar na kar tera bhai vakeel hai” (don’t worry, your brother is a lawyer), and its references to “package deals” and “judge ko mamu banana” (fooling the judge) are rude. The person who filed the petition also didn’t like that actors were dancing in black coats and dresses, which are supposed to be worn in court with respect.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court case is slated to be heard on September 12. The Allahabad High Court recently threw out a similar petition, which provides a solid precedent. The court also noted that the petitioners had not initially gone to the right regulatory bodies, such the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), before submitting the writ.

The Jolly LLB series has had to deal with legal problems in the past because of how it shows the court system. Even if there are still legal problems, the movie is set to come out on September 19. The producers are still sure that the movie is good.
