
Jr NTR Gets Teary-Eyed As He Pays Tribute To Grandfather NTR On 29th Death Anniversary
January 18, 2025: On January 18, the Nandamuri family gathered at NTR Ghat in Hyderabad to mark the 29th death anniversary of the legendary actor and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR). The occasion was a solemn tribute to NTR, who left a significant impact on both the Telugu film industry and Indian politics.
Actor Jr NTR, the grandson of NTR, was present among the family members who paid their respects at the memorial. Nandamuri Balakrishna, a key figure in the family and a leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), also honored the memory of the iconic leader.
Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, paid tribute to NTR, describing him as a humanitarian and a reformer who transformed the lives of the poor and marginalized sections of society. Naidu emphasized NTR’s vision of an egalitarian society, stating that NTR’s legacy of welfare, development, and good governance would continue to inspire the pursuit of a prosperous Telugu state. He highlighted NTR’s contributions, noting that “power means an opportunity to change the lives of the poor.”
TDP General Secretary and senior Minister in Andhra Pradesh, Nara Lokesh, also paid homage to NTR. He recalled NTR’s impact as a film icon and political leader, noting that he was not just a name, but a sensation and the embodiment of Telugu culture. Lokesh praised NTR for his commitment to social justice and public welfare, principles that formed the foundation of the TDP. He expressed that his grandfather’s legacy continues to inspire him.
Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, who served as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for three terms, passed away on January 18, 1996, at the age of 72 after suffering a heart attack. His contributions to politics and the entertainment industry continue to resonate with the people of Andhra Pradesh and beyond.
