Justina Machado Snubs New ‘Final Destination’ Sequel: “They Didn’t Bring Me Back!”

May 13, 2025: Justina Machado, star of Final Destination 2, has made it clear she won’t be queuing up to watch the franchise’s latest installment, Final Destination: Bloodlines. The sixth film in the horror saga, releasing Friday, May 16, marks the franchise’s return after a 14-year hiatus — but not everyone is thrilled.

Speaking to PEOPLE during a Tony Awards junket in New York on May 8, the 52-year-old actress laughed off the idea of catching the new sequel, revealing her disappointment at not being included.”I am a horror person — just not that horror person, you know what I mean?” she said playfully. “Plus, I didn’t die! They didn’t bring me back! So no.”Machado played Isabella Hudson in Final Destination 2 (2003), one of the rare characters who survived Death’s design in the cult horror franchise known for its elaborate, fatal chain reactions.

Reflecting on her time filming the sequel in Vancouver, Machado shared fond memories.”Everybody was great. We were all in our 20s and just having the greatest time,” she recalled.
At the time, she was also balancing her role on HBO’s Six Feet Under, making her a rising star in both TV and film. She particularly cherishes her friendship with co-star T.C. Carson:”That was my guy, my friend. So lots of great memories with T.C.”Despite the nostalgia, Machado’s exclusion from Bloodlines seems to have left her indifferent about the franchise’s latest chapter.About Final Destination: Bloodlines

The official synopsis reveals a chilling new premise:”Plagued by a violent recurring nightmare, college student Stefanie heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle and save her family from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all.” The new cast includes Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Rya Kihlstedt, Anna Lore, Max Lloyd-Jones, Brec Bassinger, and the late Tony Todd in his final on-screen appearance.

Final Destination: Bloodlines promises to “take audiences back to the very beginning of Death’s twisted sense of justice,” offering a rebooted take on the beloved franchise for both longtime fans and a new generation.
