Kajol Faces Off With Evil in Spine-Chilling 'Maa' Poster Ahead of Trailer Release
May 28, 2025: After a three-year hiatus from the big screen, actress Kajol is making a powerful comeback with a spine-chilling mythological horror film titled ‘Maa’, slated to release in theatres on June 27, 2025. Ahead of the trailer launch on May 29, the actress has been steadily building excitement among fans by unveiling intense and visually arresting posters.
Earlier today, Kajol took to Instagram to share a striking new poster that left fans buzzing. In the image, she stands tall and defiant, with an ethereal silhouette of Maa Kaali looming protectively behind her. Captioned, “When a mother breaks… a Goddess is born,” the poster signals a potent blend of maternal emotion and divine wrath. Fans immediately flooded the comments with fire and heart emojis, praising Kajol’s fierce transformation.
In a joint post with Ajay Devgn, another poster was unveiled, turning up the intensity. This time, Kajol is seen screaming in rage, her face marked with bloody scars, as she confronts a terrifying demonic creature with red eyes, twisted horns, and a monstrous appearance. Accompanied by an eerie background score, the poster gave fans chills—and a taste of the horror awaiting them.
Part of the Shaitaan Universe—a dark cinematic world established by Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan’s 2024 hit ‘Shaitaan’—Maa explores the age-old battle between good and evil. At its core, the film tells the story of a mother who must confront supernatural forces to save her daughter, channeling divine feminine energy in a tale of protection, destruction, and redemption.
Alongside Kajol, the film features an impressive supporting cast:
Kherin Sharma, Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, Jitin Gulati, Gopal Singh, Surjyasikha Das, Yaaneea Bharadwaj, and Roopkatha Chakraborty. Each character adds to the layered mystery and supernatural terror that unfolds.
Maa marks Kajol’s return to cinema after ‘Salaam Venky’ (2022), and the film’s mythological-horror genre is a bold and refreshing shift from her past roles. Fans of the actress are especially excited to see her in a powerful and transformative role, where she portrays both the nurturing mother and the fierce warrior goddess.
In addition to Maa, Kajol has a packed slate ahead. She will star in Sarzameen, alongside Ibrahim Ali Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, directed by Kayoze Irani. She’s also reuniting with Prabhu Deva for the action-thriller Maharagni – Queen of Queens, featuring Naseeruddin Shah and Jisshu Sengupta.
With its mythological horror backdrop, intense emotional stakes, and Kajol’s fiery comeback, Maa is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films of the year.
