The actress, deeply affected by his passing, took to Instagram to share an emotional tribute. Along with a picture of herself with her late uncle from a Durga Puja celebration, Kajol reflected on their special tradition of taking pictures together during the festive occasion.
In her heartfelt post, Kajol shared, “Tradition said that every Durga Puja we would click pictures together when we were all dressed up and looking good. I’m still adjusting to the thought of a world without him. To one of the finest men I’ve ever known. Rest in peace. You will be loved, remembered, and missed every day of my life.” She added the hashtags #debumukherji and #youareloved, as she poured her heart out.
Deb Mukherjee, born in Kanpur, was part of the famous Mukherjee-Samarth family, which has a long legacy in the Indian film industry. His mother, Satidevi, was the only sister of Bollywood legends Ashok Kumar, Anup Kumar, and Kishore Kumar. His brothers included actor Joy Mukherjee and filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee, who was married to Bollywood star Tanuja. His nieces, Kajol and Rani Mukerji, are prominent figures in the film industry.
Deb Mukherjee was known for his contributions to the film industry and worked in movies such as Sambandh, Adhikar, Zindagi Zindagi, Haiwan, Mai Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki, Karate, Baaton Baaton Mein, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, and others.
