Kamakhya Narayan, The Kerala Story 2 director slams Anurag Kashyap

A fierce war of words has erupted between Anurag Kashyap and Kamakhya Narayan Singh, the director of the upcoming film The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond. The conflict centers on a controversial scene in the film’s trailer involving the forced consumption of beef.

The Root of the Row

The controversy began when Anurag Kashyap, while attending the Filmfare Awards South in Kochi, slammed the film as “total bullshit propaganda.”

  • Kashyap’s Remark: He specifically targeted a scene where a character is force-fed beef. Kashyap mocked the realism of the scene, stating, “Who feeds someone beef like this? No one is even fed khichdi (porridge) in this manner.” * The Accusation: He further alleged that the filmmakers are “greedy” and making “crap” just to divide people and make money.

Director Kamakhya Narayan Singh’s Rebuttal

In a video posted to X (formerly Twitter) on February 22, 2026, Kamakhya Narayan Singh hit back, calling Kashyap “mentally unstable” (maansik roop se durbal).

  • The “Khichdi” Counter: Singh agreed that no one feeds someone khichdi or even laddoos by force, but argued that the film highlights a “crime” where girls are fed beef to facilitate forced religious conversion.
  • Attack on Kashyap’s Filmography: Singh brought up Kashyap’s 2010 film That Girl in Yellow Boots, criticizing its portrayal of an “unethical relationship” between a father and daughter as something beyond the imagination of a “civilized society.”
  • The “Propaganda” Label: Singh argued that calling the film hate-mongering is “intellectual dishonesty,” stating, “Your lies are creative freedom, and our truth is propaganda!”
