The experienced batter scored an impressive 133 off 113 balls, which included 13 boundaries and two sixes, helping New Zealand chase down South Africa’s target.
Reflecting on the challenging conditions, Williamson praised his team’s collective effort. “We had to work hard to chase it down, but it was a really good team effort,” he said. Despite the tough start, Williamson’s knock steered his team to victory, with the Kiwis now holding the top spot in the standings with four points and a net run rate of +0.906.

The match, played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, saw South Africa’s Breetzke also score a remarkable hundred, but New Zealand’s strong partnership and determination in the chase ultimately sealed the win. Williamson was named ‘Player of the Match’ for his crucial contribution.
